The volume of retail sales increased by 1% last month compared to June 2009.

London's FTSE 100 Index slumped more than 1% today after US figures showed weaker-than-expected growth in the second quarter.

PARIS: the Cac-40 index closed up 1.8 at 3653.7.

The decline in retail sales eased to 5%in the second quarter of the year compared with the same time last year, according to Retail Excellence Ireland (REI) which represents 8,500 stores nationwide.
